Dr. Malofeeva, Ph.D., CMS-CHT, FIBH, CIMHP
Elena Malofeeva, Ph.D.,CMS-CHT, FIBH is a Licensed Psychologist in the state of Arizona. Following undergraduate/graduate studies in Psychology/English/German in Russia, Dr. Malofeeva earned her Ph.D. in American Psychological Association accredited program of Counseling Psychology and a Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology with minor degree in Quantitative Psychology, all from the University of Notre Dame. She completed her American Psychological Association-approved internship placement at the University of Michigan Counseling and Psychological Services. She was a top student in all of her academic pursuits, graduating Magna Cum Laude and having obtained a score in the top 5% range on the licensing exam. Dr.Malofeeva is fully bilingual: she speaks both English and Russian.
Dr. Malofeeva is certified as an Integrative Mental Health Professional (CIMHP) supporting a whole body approach to mental health.
I. EMDR She is is an EMDRIA-certified EMDR therapist. She is certified by the EMDR International Association, an organization that pursues the highest standards for the clinical use of EMDR and certifies EMDR therapists who have completed a set of stringent requirements. She is also trained in EMDR 2.0 (Ad de Jongh, PhD and Suzy Matthijssen, PhD), Internal Family Systems (parts work, trained by Annie Monaco, Robin Shapiro), DBT, CBT, and safe and affordable evidence-based holistic approaches to mental health. Certified Integrative Mental Health Professional (CIMHP). She also uses Critical Incident Desentization (CID), A-TIP( Acute Traumatic Processing) and Recent Traumatic Episode (G-TEP and R-TEP) in groups and individually when there is an emergency. She is also trained in Brainspotting.
II. Hypnosis Dr. Malofeeva is a Certified Medical Support Clinical Hypnotherapist (CMS-CHT) and a Fellow of the International Board of Hypnotherapy (FIBH). The following hypnotherapy sessions are provided:
-natal and prenatal regressions
-past life regressions
-specific protocols for the treatment of overactive bladder
-addictions
-phobias
-anxiety and depression
-exam preparations
-sport performance improvement.
III. Prepare for Surgery Dr. Malofeeva has been trained and certified by Peggy Huddleston to administer To Prepare for Surgery, to Heal Faster workshop to
- Feel calmer before surgery
- Have less pain after surgery
- Reduce side effects of radiation therapy and/or chemotherapy (mention this workshop specifically to the office staff so you could be scheduled with Dr. Malofeeva).
IV. IFS. Dr. Malofeeva uses Internal Family Systems model in combination with EMDR to process traumatic experiences.
V. Pain Reprocessing Therapy Dr. Malofeeva has been recently trained in a new way of handling chronic pain- Pain Reprocessing Therapy. This is a non medication way of working with neuroplastic pain that has shown promising results for all chronic pain sufferers. Call to inquire.
VI. CBT and DBT Dr. Malofeeva has been trained and has more than 20 years of experience in Cognitive Behavioral and Dialetical Behavioral Therapies.
VII. Brainspotting. Dr. Malofeeva has been trained in Brainspotting.
III. Flash technique. Flash technique has been discovered in 2017 and Dr. Malofeeva was trained in it in 2019. Has been using this technique since then in a variety of patients. Helps process traumatic experiences in a matter of minutes.
IX. KAP. Dr. Malofeeva is trained to provide Ketamine-assisted therapy (KAP).
X. Biofeedback, neurofeedback Dr. Malofeeva is in the process of getting a certification from BCIA (Biofeedback Certification International Alliance) to use biofeedback, neurofeedback and QEEG to help patients heal.
Dr. Malofeeva has 25 years of experience in the practice of psychology in counseling/psychotherapy, assessment, evaluation, school consultation, and training. Dr. Malofeeva worked in such settings as community mental health, university counseling centers, school consultant, office of alcohol and drug education, non-profit organizations, homeless shelter, universities, and private sector. She is very active in the research community and as an advocate for children, families, and various adult groups.
