Rahul Sivaprasad, M.S., LMFT
A native of Portsmouth, New Hampshire Rahul is a licensed marriage and family therapist in New Hampshire and Arizona. He graduated with Bachelor’s degree from Whittier College in Whittier, California and has my Master’s Degree in Family Studies with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of New Hampshire. As a clinician, he worked with community mental health organizations in a variety of settings and co-facilitated group therapy utilizing meditation and mindfulness practice. Rahul is currently a Clinical Fellow with the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. He also serves on the Board of the Greengard Center for Autism in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
Working with clients since 2008, he has tailored his therapeutic approached to meet the needs of clients individually as opposed to a blanket approach. He has had extensive training in Dialectal Behavior Therapy as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy that helps in the treatment of depression, anxiety, and obsessive compulsive disorder. He also employs solution-focused therapy as well as strategic brief therapy.
When working with couples, Rahul's goal is to help people reconnect. He uses many different types of evidenced-based practices, especially Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, that helps strengthen existing bonds between people by getting to the root cause of conflict in order to help resolve even the most entrenched disagreements.
