WHY ONLINE EMDR THERAPY?
We specifically chose to provide online EMDR therapy for 5 reasons:
1) EMDR therapists at our clinic are using specific online EMDR technology (the newest that was released last year to the US market) that IS superior to in-person EMDR methods because it uses AI to adjust the working memory taxation, reducing treatment time by about 33%. So instead of 9 sessions, you might only need 3- we save you time/money. Only A FEW PLACES IN THE US have adopted this technology because it is so new. We are one of them. The AI software is from a group of researchers (Ad de Jongh and Suzy Matthijssen, who are top-level researchers in EMDR/trauma). As of March 2024, 3 groups in the US are using this technology, and we are one of them.
2) Ever since COVID, the EMDR-specific software we use has been tested in the online environment, and one recent study shows a 49% SUD decrease compared to standard BLS in-person methods. What it means is that if you are doing in-person EMDR with a light bar, it takes about 42 minutes of processing per target versus 21.4 minutes with the software we are using. This is a big deal in the EMDR world. We all want to process trauma faster.
3) We are using EMDR 2.0, a faster version of standard EMDR, and much research shows that all therapists should switch to it.
4) We use exposure together with EMDR via online technology, which is powerful for situations such as FLIGHT PHOBIA, SEX VIOLENCE, MEDICAL TRAUMAS, PUBLIC SPEAKING ANXIETY, etc., not something we can easily accomplish in an in-person visit.
