We believe mental health services should not be a mystery. It is an investment of your time, finances, and energy that should be considered seriously and carefully. Tucson Counseling has psychiatric providers who provide medication management.

To schedule an appointment for medication management, please call the office at 520-873-8562 and press 5. The first contact is not meant to be a long discussion. We will inquire about your insurance, sign you up over the phone, and schedule the first appointment. Once you register with the office, you will receive an email link to create a username and password for the portal. We use CounSol for the client portal. You can complete forms through the portal or when you visit the office for a vital signs check. If you need assistance, call 520-873-8562 and press 1 at any time. You can text us at 520-873-8562 (not confidential). The first session, called an intake, lasts for 45 minutes. The subsequent sessions are 20 minutes in length. You can cancel your appointments up to 24 hours before your appointment time.

About Your Visits

Your visit will be telemedicine- through the computer with a video on or through your smart phone with a video on. Phone only appointments will not be allowed. Prior to the first appointment you will need to come to the office for a vital sign check. It will take less than 5 minutes to complete the vital signs. Call 520-873-8562 press 1 to find out when you can stop for a vital sign check. Our office is open for a vital sign check certain times of the week. You can complete paperwork through your portal at home or when at the office.

We are open 7 days a week  (the clinic is open for vital signs only during certain times, please inquire with the office). Usually we get about 150-200 calls a day, if you get a recording, please leave a message, and we will call you back. If you sent us an email, we respond faster. If you have not heard from us in 24 hours, please contact the office 520-873-8562 press 1 - we might not have the correct information to be in touch with you. All phone calls  are returned within 24 hours.

Initial Appointment-Intake

During an initial appointment called an intake, a psychiatric provider will conduct a detailed assessment and learn your history. A treatment plan will be developed and necessary prescriptions put in place. This initial visit is 45 minutes.

Ongoing Monitoring

Your psychiatric provider will monitor the effectiveness of your medications on a continuous basis. These are shorter 20 minute follow up appointments you will schedule through the office.
